I have been involved in real estate and lending for over 15 years. My background includes experience in wholesale, retail, and private lending. I have also managed acquisition and sales for a national real estate wholesaler in addition to personally investing in flips in the DFW area.
Build a great team. The most successful real estate investors focus on forming strong and lasting relationships with their contractors/vendors, sourcing partners, and capital providers to help them grow their business. Develop your team with a long term outlook and surround yourself with a group that adds value to your operation.
Experienced investors have a strategy. This generally includes operating in a certain price point range, location, disposition strategy, and specific buying methodology. They have gone through the rookie mistakes, but even seasoned investors can make the mistake of deviating from the game plan. Trying to "make a deal work" is usually the sign. It could be lack of deal flow, emotional attachment to a project, or just simple oversight. When an investor goes outside a system that has been successful for them it usually leads to more wasted time and less profit.
I get really motivated by seeing a finished product. I love watching investors transform properties and I feel honored to be a part of it. Our clients are building businesses and it is a great feeling to know that Renovo is helping them achieve their goals.
I am from Houston, went to college in Austin, and started my professional life in Dallas as a Financial Analyst. I knew quickly that it was not the right fit and applied for a job as an Account Executive for a wholesale lending company in 2004. That got me started and I have been in the industry ever since.
I mostly spend time with my wife and two sons in a variety of ways. I personally love playing tennis and I'm starting to pick up golf.
