Clients Need a Partner

When we decide to bring a new client on board we take a tremendous amount of time to get to know them, their family story, their business story, and ultimately what their goals are…not only for work, but for life."

Making Money in Real Estate

“Real estate is one of those things where it's so much about who you know. We ensure that our clients have the best available contractors, attorneys, architects, agents, etc. in the marketplace so that they'll be successful."

What Happens When Things Don't Go as Planned

“I can't think of a project where I didn't make some sort of a change to the initial scope of work as I got into it. It's important for your lender to understand that this is part of the deal."

Top 10 Mistakes We See from Chicago Investors

“Real estate is a contact sport. It's also a team sport, but it's a contact sport and it's impossible to get into this game and not get bruised or not get scars that come through it."

Get to Know Eric

How long have you been in the industry?

I have been focused on investment real estate since 2010 and have experience in all facets of it – brokerage, contracting, ownership and lending.

What's your #1 tip for home investors?

Play the long game. Real estate is not a get rich quick business, it is a get wealthy over time business.

What's the biggest mistake you've seen in the business?

Believing that real estate investing can be passive. The most successful operators and investors are committed to the daily operation of their business and are focused on it.

What motivates you?

I have four beautiful children and a fantastic wife. They are my daily motivation.

Where are you from and how did you get into the business?

I’m from a small town in central Illinois and I moved up to Chicago after college to start my career in real estate (new construction). The crash of 2008 forced me into the investment space … it was the only active part of the market!

What do you do in your spare time?

Did you see the part about having four kids? Nothing is more enjoyable than watching them participate in sports and dance. When I do have some time for myself, I really enjoy playing golf and am an avid crosfitter.

What's a fun fact about yourself?

I was first introduced to Renovo as a potential client. Lending was something I learned AFTER coming to work here. There isn’t a part of the business that I haven’t done. Any issue our clients are facing, I have also faced. I’m also a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers. Go Pack Go!
